CONTEMPLATING ANIMAL ADOPTION OR FOSTERING?
If you know anyone that is looking for a kitten, puppy, dog, cat or just about any other kind of animal please suggest that they visit BARC - the Houston Pound. It has a new director who is trying to lower the "kill" rate but with that effort comes more animals. I was there today with my two foster pups, who are sick, and everywhere you look - animals. In carriers stacked on top of each other, they are filled to capacity. Consider fostering. It is a way to have the joy of the little guys without the commitment of a lifelong relationship. It was staggering the number of animals there, seriously.
Please tell everyone you know, anyone even considering a pet, to go to BARC. It is off Collingsworth which is an exit off of 59 on Carr Street. There was not a car in the parking lot, not a soul there looking for a pet. Contrast that to the humane society or SPCA and it is evident that BARC needs some serious PR work.

Post Easter Musings I’ve been thinking about this whole legalistic point of view the right has been taking on immigration. And the thing that keeps getting stuck is how they (the hate radio guys) keep saying repeatedly that they want to get the guys that “cut in line” that “jumped in front of everyone else who is going through the process”.
