Hamas
I have but one thing to say about the elections in Palestine. Let’s see if Hamas, (also the former name of the Movement of Society for Peace) labeled a terrorist organization, can become part of the system in a constructive, positive way now that it has won so much political capital. It could be an incredible precedent. Instead of alienating, demonizing and forcing groups like this to the fringe, incorporating them into the “mainstream” could make for a completely different path for the future. Something to think about. I am cautiously hopeful.

Absolutely...not unlike getting the Sunnis to play along in Iraq. Different situation, I know, but being engaged in the process necessarily begets, well, participation in the process. One hopes...

Post Easter Musings I’ve been thinking about this whole legalistic point of view the right has been taking on immigration. And the thing that keeps getting stuck is how they (the hate radio guys) keep saying repeatedly that they want to get the guys that “cut in line” that “jumped in front of everyone else who is going through the process”. Now, believe me, I hate cutters. I have always hated cutters. There’s an entitlement issue there that really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
