Harp Seals Update:

The killing has ended, but the fight for justice and a permanent end to this massacre is growing stronger. We need YOU to get involved now, to ensure that no more baby seals will be slaughtered in Canada.

What has Harpseals.org been doing?
Airing our 30-second graphic TV spot both as a Public Service Announcement and as a paid commercial. It's airing right now in the Los Angeles area on Animal Planet and Discovery in the Charter Cable market. After airing in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale market, awareness of the seal campaign visibly increased. You can get this spot on your local public access cable channel (for little or no money) or sponsor commercials in your region (for $1000 or more). Spread the word for the seals in your town today!

Making Presentations to students on the seals and the seal campaign. Spearheaded by Outreach Coordinator, Robb Mead, we are presenting information on the seals, the seal "hunt," and the campaign to end the "hunt' to students at all educational levels. We are continuing to enhance our materials and will soon have complete kits for presenters and for teachers. We need you to sign up now to make presentations to students, civic groups, camps, etc. If you are a teacher, sign up now to get the instructional kit.

Staffing information tables at fairs, festivals, pedestrian malls, etc. We have found that tabling is a great way to educate the public about the seal "hunt" and the ways people can save the seals. And, when you get a group of seal activists together to staff a table, you'll find you have a lot of fun, too! We need you to join the Outreach Team, and start tabling in your town. We'll help you find others in your area and help you register to table at local festivals.

Spreading the word with BILLBOARDS, PRINT ADS, AND RADIO SPOTS. Our Philly billboard is heading to Newark, on I-95, near the airport. It will be seen by over 130,000 people each day! We are also running print ads in Salinas, St. Louis, and other cities, and will start another run of radio spots soon. We need you to sponsor ads in your town today!
